Life-size Building in Urban Spaces
The ""Hey Dome"" building system is a large-scale structural system designed to allow participants to create full-scale constructions. It is easy to handle, even for children, and requires no training. Sustainability is one of the strengths of its design: it consists of cardboard cylinders and silicone connectors.
In response to the urban and architectural character of Barcelona, the proposal invites a creative encounter between geometric and organic forms, as well as between traditional and contemporary architectural elements. Dome is unity, protective shield, structure, innovation, engineering challenge, spectacle, symbol and work of art, all at the same time.
During the workshop, various structures will be built with cylinders, trying to establish a dialogue with the built environment of each location. The participating public will build together and experience the power of community through collaboration during the creative process.
